Bolder Boulder

Memorial Day was the Bolder Boulder. Runner's World magazine rated it as the best 10K race in America. It is such a fun race! There is entertainment all along the course- everything from live bands to belly dancers. I love how involved the community gets. Residents will sit in their front yard and play boom boxes and turn on their sprinklers. Some even hand out watermelon and bacon. Yes, bacon.
This year Dr. Oz shot off the start gun for my race wave. Of course he asked if we were all hydrated.

Little Jaelyn was so tired from all the racing excitment

This year at Boulder they had an expo. Ryan Hall, who owns the US record for the half marathon and ran in the Beijing Olympics was there for a meet and greet. My sister loves him, so she was a little jealous!

He's so little!
I think Boulder has one of the best Memorial Day tributes. They have sky divers come in and land in the middle of the stadium. Each diver has a flag of the different military branches attached to them. The last diver comes down with a huge American flag behind him while they play Proud to Be An American over the PA System. It's awesome!
The sky divers are followed by a 21 gun salute
To end the tribute there is a fly over
Such an amazing view
