When was the last time you went somewhere new? Bought different groceries? Changed up your 'do? Tried something different?
I met with my favorite spin instructor this morning for a one-on-one training session. She gave me a bunch of new ideas and little tweaks I should try, and lots of paperwork to look over that will "change my life." (And she told me I'm very toned for never lifting weights!) One of the things she gave me talked about being open minded; dropping the stereotypes and classifications that we create and believe to be true and being open to opportunity and change.
It says that open minded people are more likely to go to different places and call it an adventure, try new things without resentment for missing the old, and embrace, REALLY embrace, change. In fact, when tested, open minded people typically function at a very high level of excitement. Others, who are not open minded tend to function at a very high level of worry, anxiety, and stress.
While it is easy to call yourself "open minded," when it really comes down to it...are you?
People are very open-minded about new things...as long as they're exactly like the old ones!
