Right Down the Toilet

When I moved into my apartment, I noticed that the door knob on my bathroom door was loose. It still worked fine; you just had to twist it a little more. About a year ago I almost got locked IN my bathroom. I went to turn the knob, but it just kept turning and turning and wouldn’t open. Panic set in and all these horrible thoughts about how I’m going to be stuck in the bathroom for the rest of my life started popping in my head! Since then I’ve always taken my phone with me in the bathroom.

Well, last night, as usual, I took my phone into the bathroom and set it on the sink. I don’t even know what happened next, but somehow my hand hit my phone and knocked it right into the toilet!!! My brand new fabulous purple phone!! So, I’m without a phone for a few days. Luckily, I had insurance on it, but now the insurance company won’t even talk to me because the account is under Ben’s name. What a joke!

Eden's Birthday Cake

My friend Dez's daughter, Eden, turned 3 this weekend. Eden is the cutest little kid ever. Dez asked me to do a cake for her birthday party. Eden loves Mickey and Minnie so the cake was all about that theme.

Little heads

All done! I think it turned out pretty cute

Happy Birthday, Eden!

Zumba and Tebow

My company recently purchased gym memberships for everyone in the office. It’s amazing!! The gym is right across the street and it is the most fabulous gym I have ever been to in my life. In the mornings they have bananas and coffee for you. They have fresh flowers in the reception area and in the locker room that always brighten my day. They also provide you with everything you could ever need or want to get ready. This fabulous gym offers a Zumba class. I’ve always wanted to try Zumba after I saw an infomercial for it once. A bunch of the ladies in the office talked about all going over there together. I can honestly say that Zumba is NOT for me. I have no rhythm, my hips don’t move the way the instructor’s do, and after looking at myself in the mirror, I really don’t think I should ever dance in public ever again! Unless it’s line dancing.
I think I’ll just stick to the treadmill.

Yesterday was the first round of the NFL draft. And the Broncos picked Tim Tebow! Despite all the doubts the experts have about him, I'm pretty excited about this move. In a league that's full of players who think they can get away with pretty much anything of the field, it's nice to have a player on your team who has morals and isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. He has a great work ethic and is passionate. Plus, he's easy on the eyes! Welcome to Denver, Tim!

Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted one of these blurbs of wisdom, but I came across this one and thought it was good...

Winning has nothing to do with racing. Most days don't have races anyway. Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

The Last Few Weekends

Last Friday I had the day off as a "floating Easter Holiday." I couldn't have asked for a better day off! The weather was amazing! Ben, Jeff, and I headed over to Snooze for breakfast. It was amazing! Breakfast food is one of my favorites. I had a pancake flight where I got to pick 3 different pancake flavors. I went with Cinfully Cinnamon, Pineappe Upside Down Pancakes, and Reeses. So, so good!! That afternoon, Ben and I went for a run around Wash Park and then threw food on the grill and watched the opening day of the Rockies. I love opening day! There's such a great energy all over town. And, the Rockies won, so it was an added bonus!

Jeff, me, and Ben at breakfast

My delicious pancake flight!

On Saturday we went up to Eaton to celebrate our Friend Eric's birthday. A bunch of us went to the Rio for dinner before heading back to their house for game night. It was a great night filled with laughs.

This weekend, Eric and Erin came down on Friday. We met up for dinner and went to surprise Jeff at his restaurnat, Cafe Terracotta. It was a good night.
Yesterday, my mom and I were going to go try a tea house in Louisville. We were so disappointed and ended up walking out. It wasn't a tea house at all! It was just a restaurant that had a seperate tea menu. But, we did end up finding a cute little bakery, A Grande Finale, right across the street. We're both suckers for sweets, so of course we had to check it out! We split a chocolate croissant and a linzertorte, an almond crust filled with seedless raspberry jam, fresh ripe raspberries and blueberries. All topped with a lattice crust and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. It was delicious!!

I'll post pictures soon

He Loves Us

He is jealous for me
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us oh
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us so

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If His grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

That He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us
