Yesterday I was asked the question “Tell me something you don’t think Ben knows about you yet but you hope he’ll find out.” That is a tough question! I’d like to think Ben knows most things about me at this point! But it got me thinking, what don’t people know about you? I thought it would make a good blog post. So here it goes…..
~I get terrible road rage
~Sometimes I fight going to sleep like babies do…minus the screaming and crying
~I always light a candle when I get home from work
~I usually wear my hair in a ponytail. I think it makes my face look thinner!
~I have to have background music on when I read…otherwise it makes me feel a little lonely
~Pancakes are my favorite breakfast food. Especially chocolate chip ones!
~I vacuum my mattress to make sure I don’t have dust mites
~I prefer my toilet paper to go over rather than under
~I wear my watch on my right hand even though I’m right handed
~I eat pudding with graham crackers and not a spoon

A Night Out With My Parents
Friday night Ben and I took my parents out to for a night on the town. First we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner to celebrate his birthday. Then we took them over to Trios for jazz music. My dad loves jazz music and Trios is one of my favorite places to go downtown. It was a great night!

Busy Weekend!
This last weekend was a busy one! On Friday, Ben surprised me at work some flowers. He picked my favorites- calla lilies and star gazers. So pretty!!

That night we had some new friends over to watch the Nuggets and Lakers game and we made sushi. It was a lot of fun! And the Nuggets won!
Saturday we had our second tasting. The food was delicious and we had cake that was amazing!!
Later that afternoon we headed up to Eaton to spend time with our friends Eric and Erin. We had a great night in full of games.
On Sunday we headed over to Collin's house for the Super Bowl. Collin is one of Ben's best friends and hosts Super Bowl parties every year. It was good game and good time with friends.

I'm back!
It's been a LONG time since I last updated my blog. A lot has happened since then, that's for sure!
Holiday Update:
I had a great Holiday Season. We went to Nebraska to visit Ben's family and I have to say it was a little hard for me to be away from my family at Christmas. I did have a good time visiting and getting to spend time with my soon to be in-laws.
And, I got to spend some good, quality time with my sister and brother-in-law after we got back. We went on an awesome sleigh ride in Estes Park and went ice skating as well.
This was the second year in a row we spent New Years Eve together. We went to a friend's house party and rang in the new year with our friends.
I also asked my sister to be my matron of honor. I bought her a little custom cookie that said "Will you be my matron of honor?" I thought it was the cutest thing ever and couldn't wait to give it to her! Now if only she would move home and help with all of the planning....

Wedding Update:
Ben and I have set a date and picked a venue. We're getting married in Estes Park at Della Terra Mountain Chateau. It's absolutely gorgeous!! We both fell in love with it when we took a tour. We're getting married on October 4th, which is a Monday, kinda crazy I know, but we're really excited about it. Not only are saving a ton of money by doing it on a Monday, but we'll also get to spend more time with our out of town family and friends.
And, I already have my dress! I feel beautiful in it. I went dress shopping while my sister was in town over Christmas. I only tried on 7 dresses before I found the perfect one! I can't post any pictures... occasionally Ben will check my blog and I don't want him to see it before the big day. And I ordered purple shoes to go with it!
We've already started checking out caterers and photographers.
I never knew planning a wedding would be so busy and so stressful!!

Lots of Pics!
It's been a while since I've updated my blog. And, i have lots of photos to share! We went to the parade of lights a couple of weekends ago. It was a lot of fun and not as cold as I thought it was going to be! There were tons of lighted floats and marching bands.
A Christmas parade wouldn't be complete without Rudolph and Santa

Over Thanksgiving, my grandma wanted to take family pictures. And, since I just got engaged earlier that day, she snapped a few engagement photos of us. I think they turned out great.

I'm ENGAGED!!!!!!
YAY!!! I'm engaged! And so excited!
I don't really know how to start this post....
Over Thanksgiving Ben asked me to marry him. I was completely shocked and so happy! I took Ben home to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving to meet all of the extended family. Ben is the first boy I have ever taken home. We had a great time with everyone and we ate tons of food.
Saturday morning we ran a little 5K race. After the race, Ben completely shocked me by getting on one knee and asking me to marry him. I don't remember much of anything he said. I started crying, he started tearing up, my sister was off to the side crying, and my brother in law was taking pictures. I absolutely love my ring...he picked it out all by himself!
Ben had asked my dad the night before for his permission and that meant so much to me. After the race, we went back to my grandparent's house where everyone was waiting for us. It was such an amazing day!
My grandma is a photographer. Later that day she snapped a few engagement photos of us, which i'm super excited about!
Let the planning begin!
I was so surprised!
It's so shiny and sparkly
